Sabor Peruano
7105 Dixie Highway, Fairfield 513-860-0349
Craving a little adventure for the palate? Don't overlook the unremarkable-looking Sabor Peruano ("Taste of Peru") in its new location on Dixie Highway.
The extensive menu is chock-full of the diverse flavors of this sizable South American nation, with an emphasis on seafood and traditional Peruvian fare. And the prices are hard to beat.
Anticuchos (grilled beef heart, $6) and pancita (grilled beef tripe, i.e., stomach lining, $6) might tempt the fearless eaters, though there is also plenty on the menu to appeal to less adventurous appetites, including Chaufa de pollo (chicken fried rice, $9) and Carmarones al ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce, $11). "Peruvian food is not spicy," explains Mary, one of the restaurant's four owners, all of whom are Peruvian, "but it has lots of flavor. We use a lot of cilantro, especially in our white rice."
HOURS: Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
